Dear Editor,

The forthcoming disaster being perpetuated on the people of Vincent and Harpersville by White Rock Quarries, Vincent Mayor Ray McAllister, and most of the Vincent city council, is nothing compared to the long-term effects of environmental racism being employed by them.

I would have thought that these racist practices were long ago discontinued. It is even more disturbing that this type of racist activity is being directed by the very leadership of the city of Vincent under the direction of the Shelby County officials. Are we returning to the days of the 1950s?
