Ruby Estelle Sumners, age 85, a resident of Vincent, passed away, Monday, July 12, 2010 at a local nursing home. Chapel services will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday July 15 at First Baptist Church of Vincent. Burial will follow in Harpersville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Sumners is preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Sumners; mother and father, Mary Frances and Ward Ray; brothers, A.E. Ray, Robert Ray, Jasper Ray; and her sisters, Jewel Blackerby, Maude Blackerby, Opal Bowden and Louise Vanzant. Mrs. Sumners is survived by her children, James Paul Sumners (Donna), Billy Frank Sumners (Donna), David Wayne Sumners (Dale); grandchildren, David (Natalie), Skylar (Alison), Taylor, Ben (Karen), Lindsay (Jason), Garrett, Cody (Jennifer), Ashley; seven great grandchildren, Sydney, Sarah, Tyler, Hollis, Mina, John Paul, II, Payton; special nieces, Mary Roberts, Sarah Gay, Mary Ailene Gill and a host of other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
