Alabama Power’s board of directors has elected Ted McCullough as a senior vice president and senior production officer with responsibility for the company’s generating fleet, effective immediately.

McCullough replaces Jerry Stewart, who has decided to retire as executive vice president and chief production officer for Southern Company effective October 1.

McCullough was most recently vice president and senior production officer for Gulf Power in northwest Florida. He has been with Southern Company since 1987, where he has moved up through positions of responsibility in engineering, power generation and fuel services. He served in engineering leadership positions for seven years at Alabama Power’s Plant Gorgas and three years as plant superintendent at the Lay Dam hydroelectric facility.

“Ted has an exemplary track record ensuring our generating facilities operate reliably and at peak efficiency,” said Alabama Power’s President and CEO Charles McCrary.  “His expertise will ensure that our customers and the state of Alabama can count on having a dependable supply of electricity.”

McCullough is a registered professional engineer with degrees in electrical engineering and mathematics from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in business administration from Auburn University.

Also, Alabama Power’s board of directors has elected Anita Allcorn-Walker as vice president and comptroller effective Aug. 13.

She replaces Moses Feagin, who has been named vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer for Mississippi Power in Gulfport.

Allcorn-Walker had been serving as assistant comptroller for Alabama Power since 2006.

She joined the company in 1990 as an internal auditor and has moved up through managerial positions in the accounting, finance and treasury organization.

“It is with complete confidence that we have asked Anita to direct the financial reporting and accounting functions for Alabama Power,” McCrary said. “Her leadership and integrity make her uniquely qualified for this critical position.”

Allcorn-Walker has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in business administration from Samford University.

She is a certified public accountant in the state of Alabama and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants.
