When this year’s Primary election ended with just a couple of hundred votes separating two candidates, Secretary of State Beth Chapman managed what could have been a bad situation with excellence.

Flash back to Florida in the 2000 election and Secretary of State Katherine Harris. What a nightmare. She was unprepared and mismanaged that recount, which became known as a debacle and an embarrassment to the people of Florida.

Thank goodness for Secretary of State Beth Chapman, who handled the unprecedented recount with absolutely no problems. She managed anxious candidates and members of the press with true professionalism. Mrs. Chapman represented Alabama well and was calm, cool and collected throughout the entire situation.

Thank goodness for Secretary of State Beth Chapman and her staff. She has made Alabama proud.
