An authentic “low country boil” and football season kick-off party sponsored by the Rotary International District 6860 and the Rotaract Club of Shelby County will be held Saturday, Aug. 14 from 6-9 p.m. at Otey’s Tavern in Mountain Brook.

The event will feature food, drinks, family-friendly activities and live music by The Hurlers. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and children 10 and younger are admitted free.

The annual event is held to raise funds for the critical care transport service at Children’s Hospital. Created in 1983 and comprised of ground, jet and helicopter ambulances and specially-trained flight crews, the CCT team transported more than 1,000 critically ill and injured kids from all over the state to Children’s Hospital last year. Rotary International District 6860 formed a partnership with Children’s last year to support and promote the CCT service.

Sponsorship opportunities and online registration is available at Chsys.org/events.
