Montevallo Elementary School was awarded a $500 check from the University of Montevallo at the July 21 Montevallo Chamber of Commerce meeting. The monetary award was part of the Wachovia Foundation Creative Connection Education Award, which was given to the University of Montevallo in June at the Peach Belt Conference annual meeting for an event they held in April with 100 fifth-grade students from Montevallo Elementary.
