Augusta Sims Lovelady, Montevallo, passed away unexpectedly at age 84 in loving arms on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 as the result of long term physical issues.

She is preceded in death by her husband Don H. Lovelady, her parents, a sister and two brothers. Mrs. Lovelady is survived by her children, Susan and Jerry Fulmer, Montevallo; Joe and Susan Lovelady, Daphne; Nan and Tony Acre, Montevallo; grandchildren, Fran and Scott Butterworth, Chris and Ginger Fulmer, Clay and Anita Lovelady, Leigh Lovelady; great-grandchildren Jaxon Butterworth, Grayson Fulmer, Riley Butterworth and Joseph Lovelady; sister, Catherine “Billie” Giles; sisters-in-law Faye Sims and Ginny Sims; a gazillion nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Winterboro High School and the University of Montevallo she was a founding member of and advisor to Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta. She was devoted first to her family, then to her university, community and friends. Family and friends gathered Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the First United Methodist Church of Montevallo sanctuary for a Celebration of Life service, burial was at Montevallo City Cemetery.
