The Pelham High School volleyball team fell to Columbia Central (Tenn.) in the quarterfinals of the Bronze Division Sept. 11 at the Brentwood Invitational in Brentwood, Tenn.

Porsha Tolbert led the Panthers (17-12) with 13 kills in the Panthers’ 18-25, 17-25, 13-15 loss to Columbia Central.

Alexis Veal finished with six service aces and Elsa Sims recorded a team-high 18 assists.

Pelham defeated Buckhorn 26-24, 25-7, 15-7 in the opening round of tournament play.

Tolbert led the Panthers with 11 kills in the win over Buckhorn. Justina Barrow added eight kills.

Sims led Pelham with 15 assists. Sydney Days added 13 assists and four service aces.

Pelham finished with a 3-4 record in pool play at the Brentwood Invitational.
