High school volleyball roundup: Kingwood defeats Pickens Academy

The Kingwood Christian School volleyball team picked up an Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 2A, Region 2 win over Pickens Academy in high school volleyball action Sept. 13.

Karley Chamblee led the Lions with 14 assists in a 26-24, 25-7, 24-26, 25-18 win over Pickens Academy.

Chamblee added five service aces and two digs for Kingwood, which improved its record to 12-6 overall and 2-1 in Class 2A, Region 2 play.

Kaytlin Thorson recorded five digs and four service aces in the victory.

Vincent drops two matches

The Vincent High School volleyball team dropped two matches in a doubleheader at Sylacauga.

Randee Isbell led the Yellow Jackets with four kills in a 17-25, 8-25 loss to Dadeville.

Amber Shaw recorded two kills and seven digs. Rachel Johnson led Vincent with three assists.

Jessica Posey finished with a team-high nine digs.

Posey led Vincent with three kills in a 15-25, 13-25 loss to host Sylacauga.

Johnson led the Yellow Jackets (3-7) with four assists. Isbell recorded two service aces.

Shaw led Vincent with 15 digs. Posey added seven digs.
