Elva Parsons, age 83, a resident of Sterrett, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at her residence. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, at Mt. Signal Cemetery. Pastor Leonard Irwin is officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 23, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home prior to service time.

Mrs. Parsons is preceded in death by her husband, James Searcy Parsons; daughters, Shirley Hill, Bessie Northcuttt, Faye Isbell and Martha Thomas; and sons, George Townley, Ray Townley and James Searcy Parsons Jr. She is survived by her children, Jimmie (Gail) Parsons and Vernon Parsons; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
