Drayer Physical Therapy Institute has opened its fifth outpatient physical therapy center in Alabama – and its first in Shelby County.

The Greystone center is at 2823 Greystone Commercial Blvd., Hoover, about 12 miles south of Birmingham. It can be reached at 453-9400.

The center specializes in manual therapy (including spine and extremity joint mobilization), sports medicine, general orthopedics, vestibular rehab, decompression traction therapy, balance training, neuromuscular re-education and biomechanics training.

Center manager Anna Jones oversees a staff of five. Tom Swavely is regional vice president for the center, as well as for Drayer’s centers in Bessemer, Gardendale, Trussville and Vestavia in Jefferson County.

Drayer owns or manages 53 centers in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Washington and West Virginia. Just this year, Drayer has expanded to Alabama, Ohio, Washington and West Virginia.

Based in Hummelstown, Pa., Drayer provides rehabilitation services with a physician’s referral. Patients are guaranteed an appointment within 24 hours from the time they call a center. Drayer centers work with all insurance types. For more information, visit Drayerpt.com.
