Evangel Christian School senior Josh Flanders rushed for three touchdowns to lead the Lightning to a 20-14 win on the road Oct. 1 over Evangel Family Christian Academy in Montgomery.

Flanders gave Evangel (5-2) an early lead with his 73-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put the Lightning up 6-0.

Following two touchdowns by Evangel Family, which put the Lightning in a 14-6 deficit at halftime, Flanders added a second rushing touchdown on his 58-yard scoring run in the third quarter. Hayden Brown ran it in for the 2-point conversion to tie the game at 14-14.

Following a fumble recovery by Evangel senior defensive lineman Cameron Cohill, Flanders sealed the win for Evangel with his 55-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
