COLUMBIANA — A prominent Columbiana woman has died.

Elizabeth “Sis” Taylor Wallace, 91, died on Monday at an area hospital.

Wallace worked for more than 30 years at Wallace Law Firm alongside her husband, the late Wales Wallace Jr., who preceded her in death.

Jean Walker of Columbiana was a long-time friend of Wallace.

“She was a very loving and caring person,” Walker said. “She had a lot of compassion for people. The main thing about her was she was so chipper, very upbeat about everything. She always had a smile on her face, was always glad to see you. She was just a wonderful person.”

Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are Thursday at 3 p.m. at Columbiana United Methodist Church by the Rev. Pete Grice and the Rev. Tom Minor. Burial will follow at Columbiana City Cemetery.

Wallace was born Aug. 25, 1919. She was a lifelong member of the Columbiana United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women’s Ministries.

Wallace was a charter member of the Vignette Club and a leader of a Girl Scout Troop for several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Thornburg (Robert); grandchildren Robin Thornburg, Taylor Thornburg (Jamie); great-grandson Logan Thornburg; and a sister, Dorothy Armstrong (Murray).
