On Oct. 4 the organization that was once King’s Ranch and Hannah Homes, cleared up a tongue twister of a name by rebranding and renaming their organization King’s Home.

King’s Home has been serving the community for more than 30 years by providing shelter and support for youth, women and children.

Kathy Porter, King’s Home marketing assistant, said the organization will still provide the same services, the new name just clears up confusion and refocuses on the organization’s mission to serve Christ through serving others.

“It’s Christ’s home. Christ is king and this is his home,” Porter said. “We’re doing all this to serve God.”

Using grant money from the Cousins Foundation, the organization underwent a complete rebranding, Porter said.  A new logo, website and collateral materials accompany the new name to fully unite the organization.

Porter said she hopes the new name and logo will clear up some confusion about who they are and what they do.

“We’re a home,” she said. “All the things home means to anyone, where you know you’re going to be safe, taken care of, that’s where home is.”

The organization will continue the same services it has always offered, a home for at-risk and neglected youth ages 10-21 and several shelters for abused women and children.

“We still serve the same population, we just do it with a new name,” Porter said. “Ultimately we hope it will connect with more people. They’ll see that new logo and get what we do.”

By combining the two names into one, Porter said she thinks it will make it easier for people to understand and remember. She also said it will send clarify who the organization is honoring.

“It’s going to make it very clear that Christ is the foundation,” she said. “That’s the foundation we’re going to build on. Our new name is telling us who we’re really honoring.”
