Eagles finish second at Pelham Invitational

The Oak Mountain High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each finished second in the 5K varsity team standings Oct. 16 at the Pelham Invitational at Heardmont Park.

Will Hamaker led the Oak Mountain boys as he finished sixth in the boys’ individual standings with his time of 17:08.21. Tanner Syx came in 14th overall and Travis Rocha finished 15th overall with times of 18:11.98 and 18:14.90, respectively.

Ramsay Ritchie of Briarwood Christian School finished second overall in the boys’ team standings with his time of 16:52.33. Ritchie helped the Lions finish third in the boys’ team standings.

Thompson finished fourth in the boys’ team standings. Michael Johnson led the Warriors as he finished 23rd overall in individual standings with a time of 18:48.93.

Pelham claimed fifth place in the boys’ team standings. Mason Webber led the Panthers as he finished 13th overall in individual standings with his time of 18:09.30.

Adam Dunkerley of Westminster School at Oak Mountain finished 25th overall in the boys’ individual standings with his time of 18:58.51. Dunkerley helped the Knights finish seventh in team standings.

Haley Davidson led the Oak Mountain girls’ team with her time of 19:38.34, which placed her fourth overall in individual standings. Emily Beckett and Heather Comensky finished 20th and 21st overall in individual standings, respectively. Beckett recorded a time of 21:25.58 and Comensky completed the race in 21:42.10.

Briarwood Christian School finished third in the girls’ team standings. Mary Catherine Ellard led the Lions with her time of 20:12.63, which placed her eighth overall in individual standings.

Thompson finished fourth in the girls’ team standings. Anna Puckett led the Warriors as she finished 18th overall in individual standings with her time of 21:23.71.

Briana Gunn led Pelham, running as an individual, with her time of 21:11.01. Gunn finished 14th overall in the girls’ individual standings.

Running as an individual, Arlena Grier led Vincent with her time of 27:57.79 and finished 52nd overall in the girls’ individual standings.
