Ernestine Grimes, age 75, of Sterrett, passed away on Oct. 17, 2010 at her residence. Ms. Grimes worked at Miraflex in Leeds and at Taylor Gees in Leeds. She loved her church and children beyond measure and was a great prayer warrior. She loved reading and studying God’s word. She was a true witness to all. She always said to be quick to forgive and to be quick to accept forgiveness. Mother always says, “Time is passing fast, what we do for Jesus is all that will last.”

Visitation will be held on Oct. 19 from 6-9 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel. Burial followed at Union Hill Cemetery in Vandiver.

Ms. Grimes is survived by sons, Ivan H. Grimes (Sheila) of Vincent, Dafard P. Grimes (Linda) of Westover, Aaron B. Grimes of Selma and Jerusalem F. Grimes of Vincent; daughter, Roxie M. Grimes of Vincent, Gloria S. McKinney (Larry) also of Vincent, Denise Grimes (Roy) of Knoxville, Tenn., and Renee Grimes (Thomas) of Vincent; sisters, Doris Young, Pam Elkins and Catherine Messer; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
