Chelsea pounds Moody

Chelsea High School ended its Class 5A, Region 5 schedule with a bang.

The Hornets got two touchdown runs each from quarterback Jake Ganus and running back Julius McCall and steamrolled Moody High School (0-9, 0-7 in Class 5A, Region 5), 56-14, Oct. 22 to run their record to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in Class 5A, Region 5 play.

Ganus, who led all rushers with 103 yards on nine carries, scored on runs from 18 and 10 yards out. McCall had 25-yard touchdown run and a 5-yard scoring run.

Jake Adams, Blake McLaughlin, Jake Campbell and D.J. Washington added touchdowns for Chelsea.

Chelsea will host Oak Grove Oct. 28 to close out the regular season. The Hornets will host Cullman in the first round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A playoffs Nov. 5.
