Two nurses from Trinity Medical Center were selected out of more than 11,000 alumni as one of the 83 Recognized Leaders recently honored by the University of Alabama at Birmingham at the Visionary Leader Awards breakfast.

Sixty Visionary Leaders were also honored at the event.  Recognized Leaders from Trinity are Shelby County’s Patti Ellis, assistant chief nursing officer, and Karen Faircloth, director of the emergency department.

The honorees recognized are known for their distinctive service in the field of nursing or healthcare on the local, state, national or international level in practice, education or research; are recognized by colleagues and peers for outstanding achievement; and are recognized for their leadership, innovation or entrepreneurship.
