Seven high school football standouts from Alabama Independent Schools Association teams in Shelby County helped the West defeat the East 35-7 in the annual AISA All-Star game Dec. 2 at Stanley-Jensen Stadium in Prattville.

Coosa Valley Academy senior John Bullen, who was named the AISA Class 1A championship game’s most valuable player last month, led the group of players from Shelby County schools as he picked off a pass in the West’s victory.

Ryan Batson and Jordan Green, Bullen’s teammates at Coosa Valley, also played a role in the West’s win.

Cornerstone Christian School senior Josh Anderson was also on the West squad. Anderson was joined by Kingwood Christian School seniors Kevin Woody, Tyrone Pope and Ben Littrell.
The West squad was coached by Vince DiLorenzo, who led Coosa Valley to the AISA Class 1A championship this season.
