Victory GMC, 1150 George Roy Parkway, Calera, is supporting the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program this holiday season.

Through the program, the Salvation Army delivers to the parents of local children toys that are purchased and donated specifically with those individual children, or “Angels,” in mind.

“We have set up a Christmas tree in our showroom with some Angels that need to be “adopted” for Christmas.  We invite the public to come by the dealership, pick an Angel ornament off the tree, and “adopt” a child by purchasing the items listed on the Angel ornament. Participants can then drop off those gift items at either the Victory GMC showroom, or at the Salvation Army’s office by Dec 10th,” said Warren Bailey, president of Victory GMC Trucks.

Participants are asked to limit their spending on each Angel to $75 or less.

“We ask participants to take the Angel ornament you chose from the tree to our receptionist, who will give you important information regarding the care of your Angel,” said Bailey.

“We ask that all gift items for your Angel arrive no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 10, so that we can have time to get the items to our Angels the week before Christmas,” said Robin Bird, Angel Tree Coordinator, with the Salvation Army.

“Please keep the Angel information with your Angel items so that we make sure that the right items get to the right Angel,” Bird added.

“Also if possible, we ask that you put your Angel items in a dark plastic bag so that when our Angel parents pick up the gifts the Angels can still be surprised at Christmas if they happen to be with their parents at the time of pick up,” Bird suggested.
