Oak Mountain wrestlers finish fourth at Fultondale Invitational

The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team finished fourth in team standings Dec. 10-11 at the Fultondale Invitational.

The Eagles featured two weight-class champions, two second-place finishers, three third-place finishers and a fourth-place finisher in the event. Oak Mountain racked up a total of 189.5 points, which placed the Eagles 15 points behind Invitational winner Gardendale.

Oak Mountain freshman John David (J.D.) Peden went 4-0 during the Invitational and won the 103-pound weight division championship. Oak Mountain 189-pound junior Justin Woodall also went 4-0 during the Invitational and captured a weight-class title.

The Eagles’ Jacob Parker, a sophomore, went 3-1 at the Invitational and finished second in the 130-pound weight division. Oak Mountain sophomore heavyweight Chris Richmond finished 3-1 at the Invitational and finished second in his weight class.

Oak Mountain 125-pound freshman Jared Godfrey finished 4-1 in the Invitational and came in third in his weight class. Vincent Kimbrough, a 152-pound junior, compiled a 4-1 record and finished third in the 152-pound weight division. The Eagles’ Jeff Back, a 171-pound senior, went 4-1 at the Invitational and finished third in his weight class.

Oak Mountain sophomore Conrad McBee went 3-2 at the Invitational and finished fourth in the 171-pound weight division.
