VANDIVER — A Sylacauga man died in a car accident in Vandiver Dec. 16.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., Terry Janis, 45, of Sylacauga was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Shelby County 55 in Vandiver.

Juan Hernandez, 19, and Omar Oregel, 21, both of Chelsea, were in the other vehicle.

Janis died at the scene and was transported to the Shelby County Coroner’s Office. Hernandez and Oregel were transported to UAB Hospital.

Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the incident.
