Spain Park High School senior Emmanuel Cooper placed sixth in the heavyweight division Dec. 17-18 at the Hewitt-Trussville Invitational.

Cooper, the only Jaguar wrestler out of six to place in his weight division, pinned Daniel Adkins of Gardendale twice and Cooper Real of Mountain Brook once during the tournament.

Cooper fell in a 3-1 decision to defending Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A heavyweight champion Adam Wright of Clay-Chalkville in the championship bracket.

Cooper was pinned by John Floyd of Pell City in the heavyweight consolation final.
