National Bank of Commerce today announced Steven D. Fleming as senior vice president and mortgage manager of National Bank of Commerce Mortgage Company.

Fleming will primarily focus on expanding the mortgage lending business and managing all of the daily operations for the mortgage company. The 22-year banking veteran moves to National Bank of Commerce after serving Synovus Mortgage as senior vice president and operations manager and as president of First American Mortgage Company. Fleming founded the mortgage division of National Bank of Commerce of Birmingham, which later changed its name to First American Bank.

The Birmingham native holds a bachelor of science in finance degree from Auburn University.
