Algie Dit Payne, age 75, of Pelham, passed away on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 in Shelby Baptist Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 9, 1935 in Alabama, the son to John Alvie Payne and Blanche Hill Payne.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 1-3 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 11 as well at 3 p.m. Bro. Bill Oliver officiated the services.

Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Sue (Oliver) Payne; sons, Eddie Payne, Kenny Payne (Terry) and Shane Payne (Sherri); daughters, Candi Scoggins (Dwayne) and Sylvia Payne; sisters, Jean Cagle (Jim) and Sister Frankie Briggs. Also, he is survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Charter Funeral Home.
