The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team edged Thompson 36-32 in a dual meet Jan. 4.

Seven Eagles won their individual matches against Thompson.

John David (J.D.) Peden of Oak Mountain earned a 6-4 decision over Conner Gilson of Thompson in the 103-pound match. The Eagles’ Jared Godfrey earned a 2-0 decision over Demario Haynes in the 125-pound match.

Matthew Wills of Oak Mountain pinned Thompson’s Hayden Franklin in the 135-pound match. Angus McBee of Oak Mountain earned a 5-0 decision over Dalton Burkhart of Thompson in the 140-pound match.

The Eagles’ Conrad McBee earned a 5-2 decision over Cahman Holder in the 171-pound match. Justin Woodall of Oak Mountain pinned Jesse Masters of Thompson in the 189-pound match.

Oak Mountain heavyweight Chris Richmond earned a 2-1 decision over David Capers of Thompson.

Six Thompson wrestlers won their individual matches against Oak Mountain.

Reed Jacks of Thompson pinned Logan Dollins of Oak Mountain in the 119-pound match. Thompson’s Brewer Gilliland earned a 16-0 technical fall over the Eagles’ Jacob Parker in the 130-pound match.

John Austin (J.A.) Jones of Thompson pinned Oak Mountain’s Sam Jasinski in the 145-pound match. Nick Hall of Thompson earned an 18-3 technical fall over Vincent Kimbrough of Oak Mountain in the 152-pound match.

Jimmy Miller of Thompson earned a 13-4 major decision over Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain in the 215-pound match.

Thompson also defeated Mountain Brook 46-15 in the dual meet Jan. 4.

Twelve Warriors won their individual matches against Mountain Brook.

Austin Gould of Thompson pinned Mountain Brook’s Will Jackson in the 112-pound match. Jacks earned a 14-5 major decision over Tyler Cox of Mountain Brook in the 119-pound match.

Christopher Lloyd of Thompson won his 140-pound match by forfeit. Jones pinned Sam Bridell of Mountain Brook in the 145-pound match.

Hall earned a 3-1 decision over William Byrd of Mountain Brook in the 152-pound match. Holder earned a 7-1 decision over Christian Anderson of Mountain Brook in the 171-pound match.

Masters pinned Jesse Hubbard of Mountain Brook in the 189-pound match. Miller pinned Mountain Brook’s Nick Thompson in the 215-pound match.

Capers pinned Henry Real of Mountain Brook in the heavyweight match. Conner Gilson and Josh Gillaspie each won by forfeit.
