Rev. Mark Edward Barnett Jr., age 77, of Calera went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011.  Rev. Barnett was a Baptist Minister preaching the gospel for over 45 years, and was a Korean War Army Veteran. He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Barnett (Peggy) and Wayne Barnett (Cathy); a brother, Lawrence Barnett; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Montevallo, Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 from 6-8 p.m.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at Rock Springs Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Horton and Rev. Don Vanderslice officiating. He was laid in-state at the church one hour prior to the service.  Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.  Rockco Funeral Home directing. rockcofuneralhomes.com
