Vivian Mae Cross Parrish, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died on Jan. 11, 2011 at the age of 76. Vivian was a native of Birmingham and a longtime resident of Huntsville. She was born Feb 2, 1934 to parents Gordon Samuel Cross and Thelma Alberta Ashworth Cross (both deceased).

In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Jackson Cross. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lawaha Parrish; her three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Judy Parrish, Kenneth and Glenda Parrish and Michael and April Parrish; her grandchildren, Ramon and Pam Cotovazquez, Rob and Kristy Nelson, Erica York, Bruce and Amanda Parrish, Brian Parrish, Elizabeth Parrish, Emma Robinson and Bella Robinson; her great-grandchildren, Anne-Marie Cotovazquez, Isis Cotovazquez, Jasmine Nelson, Summer Nelson, Amberly Parrish and Heavenly Parrish; and her sisters Carolyne Lynelle Cross Mullins and Hildred Alberta Cross Swann.

Vivian was a woman deeply committed to her faith and her family. She was a loyal and loving soul who will be missed and remembered by all who had the pleasure of loving her.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, and funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Twickenham Funeral Home South located at 11611 South Memorial Parkway Huntsville. Internment will follow the service at Twickenham Memory Gardens Highway 431 in Hampton Cove.
