Sons of American Revolution awards Alabaster woman

The Sons of the American Revolution recently awarded an Alabaster woman with one of the organization’s top awards.

Diane Brandenberg Seales of Alabaster has been awarded The Daughters of Liberty Medal for her dedication and years of service to the Cahaba-Coosa Chapter in Shelby County, Alabama Society, Sons of the American Revolution.

The Daughters of Liberty Medal ranks all other Sons of the American Revolution medals awarded to women.

The award was presented by Robert “Bob” Melton, 2010 chapter president, on Jan. 16 during the organization’s monthly meeting at the North Shelby County Library in North Shelby.

In recent years, Seales has been the recipient of the SAR Medal of Appreciation and the Martha Washington Medal. She is a charter member of the Alabama Ladies Auxiliary of the Alabama Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution.

Her husband, Bobby Joe Seales, was the founding and first president of the Cahaba-Coosa Chapter in Shelby County in 2003 and 2004.
