Earline Walton Davis went to be with the Lord on Jan. 20, 2011. She and her husband lived in Lipscomb most of their married life, moving back to Columbiana in 1972. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and spent many hours working in her flower gardens, crocheting, quilting, sewing, canning and freezing the bounteous fruits and vegetables her husband grew. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed listening to her husband play his fiddle with his friends as the played bluegrass gospel music.

Mrs. Davis was a member of Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Wilsonville.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Algie F. Davis, Sr.; son, Algie F. (Frank) Davis, Jr.; parents, Walter D. and Mattie Cooper Walton; brother, Walter H. Walton; sister, Dorothy McDaniel Kemp; nephew, Rusty Kemp; niece, Sharon Walton; and grand-nephew, Cary Walton.

Survivors include her one daughter, Vanessa D. Brown (Charlie); grandchildren, Michelle Brown Buzbee, Monica Brown Clayton (Lee), Lance Brown (Dianna), Dewayne Davis (Heather) and Blaine Davis (Linda); great-grandchildren, Heath Brown, Alex Sims, Brettley Buzbee, Nick, Mattie Grace and Sidney Charles Clayton, Adrian Brown, Clint, Conner and Colin Davis, Braxton, Bailey and Alanna; siblings, Andy Walton, Sr. (Thelma), Robbie Horton, Mattie Sue Shaw (Leonard), Gary Walton (Mary), Nancy Brasher, Kenneth Walton (Nellie) and Wade Walton; brother-in-law, Albert Davis (Jean); special caregivers, Barbara Brewer, Pam Carlisle, David Deter, Ashley Fields, Candi Mitchem and Clay Wilder; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at The Baptist Church at Lay Lake with funeral service following at 11 a.m. Graveside service and burial will follow at Columbiana City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Brasher, Greg Gilbert, Ron Landers, Marvin Shaw, Jim Vandiver, Andy Walton, Jr., Don Walton, Kevin Walton and Ricky Walton. Mrs. Davis’ nephews will serve as clergy, Rev. Lee Walton and Dr. Wayne McDaniel.
