Pelham wrestlers win pool championship at Homewood Duals

The Pelham High School wrestling team defeated Montgomery Catholic 56-18 in a Jan. 21 match at the Homewood Duals.

The Panthers won the White Pool championship at the Homewood Duals.

Ten Pelham wrestlers won their individual matches against Montgomery Catholic.

Nick English of Pelham pinned Cameron Harris of Montgomery Catholic in the 112-pound match. The Panthers’ Robby Brantley pinned Montgomery Catholic’s Justin Cotter in the 135-pound match.

Cody Wehunt of Pelham pinned Corey Cotter of Montgomery Catholic in the 140-pound match. Nolan Vinson of Pelham pinned Matt Devries of Montgomery Catholic in the 160-pound match.

Tre Maynard of Pelham earned a 23-8 technical fall decision over Ethan Watkins of Montgomery Catholic in the 171-pound match. Brooks Haley of Pelham earned an 8-2 decision over David Norris of Montgomery Catholic in the 189-pound match.

Pelham’s Tyler Ray pinned Aidan Gilbert of Montgomery Catholic in the heavyweight match. Mason Tortorich of Pelham won his 112-pound match by forfeit.

Pelham’s Logan Huey won his 125-pound match by forfeit. John Brito-Cuevas of Pelham won the 215-pound match by forfeit.
