Ronald Smith of Montevallo, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, 2011. He was born in Thorne, England on Dec. 31, 1935. He came to live in the U.S. over 20 years ago and was preceded in death by the love of his life, Cordelia Clark Smith.

He is survived by his step-children, Terry Clark (Carol) of Thorsby, Bill Clark (Joanie) of Randolph, Ronnie Clark (Wahnda) of Montevallo and Pam Stone (Bill) of Montevallo; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Eric Smith (Marlene); one nephew and one niece, one great-nephew and one great-niece, all of Doncaster, England and numerous friends. Ron never met a stranger.

Visitation will be held at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Montevallo, Friday evening, Jan. 21 from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held from Salem Cemetery, Calera, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Greg Walker officiating. Rockco Funeral Home directing. Rockcofuneralhomes.com
