Evangel Christian tops GACS

The Evangel Christian School girls’ basketball team jumped out to a commanding halftime lead and cruised to a 67-17 win over Georgia/Alabama Christian School in high school basketball action Jan. 22.
The Lightning led 40-8 after the opening half.
Abby Letson led Evangel Christian (14-0) with a game-high 25 points, including 21 points in the first half. Letson also pulled down 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
Katherine Stockman added 19 points. Rainey Ketcham contributed 11 points, 10 assists and eight steals in the victory.
BOYS
The Evangel Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Georgia/Alabama Christian School 83-45 in high school basketball action Jan. 22.
Mark Underwood and Rodney King led the Lightning (13-1) with 20 points each.
DaJon Townson added 13 points. Aaron Walker contributed 10 points in the victory.
