Briarwood Christian edges Talladega in area contest

The Briarwood Christian School girls’ basketball team edged Talladega 38-36 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 25.

Anna Handlin led the Lions (21-4 overall, 6-1 in Class 5A, Area 7) with 17 points.

Handlin also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

BOYS

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ basketball team fell to Talladega 79-55 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 25.

Justin Bice and Luke Collins led the Lions (19-8 overall, 3-4 in Class 5A, Area 7) with 11 points each.

Jason Laatsch contributed 10 points in the defeat.
