Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Carolyn Joseph of Columbiana are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Ashley Joseph, to Mr. Steven Mezrano.

Ashley is the granddaughter of Mrs. Natillee Bates and the late George Bates and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Joseph. Steven is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Evelyn Habeeb and the late Mr. and Mrs. Regina and Izez Mezrano.

The wedding was held at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church in Birmingham at 5 p.m. on August 7, 2010. Matron of Honor Hilary Dodd Moore and bridesmaids Katrina Lanza Reynolds, Jana Davis Grier, Meredith Kincaid Ginn, Heather Raska Scott, Joanna Minchew, Ashley Sumners Joseph, Brooke Cameron, Hannah Phillips, Monica Mezrano Spray, Donna Mezrano, Hanania, Yvonne Mezrano Petelos, Nicole Tippen Mezrano and Britney Zarzaur attended the bride.

The best man was James A. Mezrano, and groomsmen included Jimmy Mezrano, Alexander Shunnarah, Sam Hanania, Seth Joseph, Daniel Joseph, Majed Bahna, Kevin Ritchey, Jeremy Ritchey, Matt Marinelli, Greg Hasberry, Nick Petelos and Daniel Basil.

The bridal party was accompanied by the classical selections of harpist, Rev. Thomas Kelly, of St. Peters Catholic Church in Birmingham. Ashley and her father shared an emotional walk down the aisle to their favorite piano piece, “Jessica’s Theme, Breaking the Colt,” from the movie, “The Man from Snowy River.” The Mysteries of Crowning and the Sacraments of Holy Matrimony were co-celebrated by Chorbishop Richard Saad, Pastor of St Elias Maronite Catholic Church; Rev. Mitch Pacwa, of Eternal Word Television Network; and Reverend Thomas Kelly.

The reception was held at The Club, where The Swinging Medallions of Greenwood, S.C. performed. Bobby T Entertainment also played Lebanese/Arabic Dance Music. The couple’s first dance was to Elvis Presley’s “The Wonder of You;” Ashley and her father danced to Tim McGraw’s “My Little Girl;” and Steven danced with his mother to Louie Armstrong’s “It’s a Wonderful World.” Ashley’s wedding gown and reception dress were designed by “heidi elnora” of Cahaba Heights.

For their honeymoon, they spent two weeks in Beirut, Lebanon where they explored their Lebanese heritages, located and met relatives of both the Joseph and Mezrano families.
