The Shelby County High School girls’ basketball team defeated Sylacauga 52-49 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 25.

Alysia Perkins led the Wildcats (15-5 overall, 4-4 in Class 5A, Area 7) with 19 points.

Aulicia Nunn added 14 points. Alexis Lewis chipped in nine points in the victory.

BOYS

The Shelby County High School boys’ basketball team fell to Sylacauga 86-78 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 25.

Ty Lollar led the Wildcats (9-12 overall, 3-5 in Class 5A, Area 7) with 26 points.

Tyler Madison added 14 points and a team-high 15 rebounds. Tre Cohill chipped in 13 points.

Denzel Williams contributed 10 points in the defeat.
