Oak Mountain wrestlers top Huntsville in Scottsboro Duals

The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team defeated Huntsville 49-27 in the Scottsboro Duals meet Jan. 29.

Nine Eagles won their individual matches against Huntsville.

John David (J.D.) Peden of Oak Mountain earned a 7-0 decision over Keating Mefford of Huntsville in the 103-pound match. The Eagles’ Logan Dollins earned a 9-0 major decision over Jon Clegg of Huntsville in the 119-pound match.

Oak Mountain’s Vincent Kimbrough pinned Kevin Charles of Huntsville in the 152-pound match. Jeff Back of Oak Mountain pinned Huntsville’s Chad Herrin in the 160-pound match.

Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain won the 125-pound match by forfeit. The Eagles’ Matthew Wills won the 135-pound match by forfeit. Angus McBee of Oak Mountain won the 140-pound match by forfeit.

Justin Woodall of Oak Mountain won the 189-pound match by forfeit. The Eagles’ Christopher Richmond won the heavyweight match by forfeit.

Three Eagles dropped their individual matches against Huntsville wrestlers.

Sam Jasinski of Oak Mountain was pinned by Huntsville’s Patrick McDaniel in the 145-pound match. The Eagles’ Conrad McBee was pinned by Alex Anderson of Huntsville in the 171-pound match.

Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain fell in a 7-4 decision to Thomas Demos of Huntsville in the 215-pound match.
