Hope Christian defeats First Assembly

The Hope Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated First Assembly Christian School 31-22 in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Feb. 1.

Leigh Wilson-Legg led the Eagles (11-7 overall, 5-4 in ACSC) with 15 points.

Brooke Machen added five points. Christina Jones, Erin Douglas, Davina Drew, Melinda Mahan and Hannah Rettig chipped in two points each. Karlee Tate finished with one point.

Douglas grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Drew grabbed four rebounds and finished with a team-high four steals. Jones finished with three steals.

BOYS

The Hope Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated First Assembly Christian School 58-31 in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Feb. 1.

Pete Thomason led the Eagles (11-9 overall, 5-8 in ACSC) with 16 points. Thomason also grabbed six rebounds.

Terrance Moore added 12 points, seven rebounds and a team-high five assists. Seth Burnham chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds. Blake Thomas and Caleb Douglas, who grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and dished out four assists, finished with nine points each.

Brandon Fuller contributed two points.
