W.L. Cox, age 84, a resident of Columbiana died on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Bolton Funeral Home with Bro. Roland Foster and Bro. Charlie Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Era Methodist Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana is directing. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Bolton Funeral Home.

Mr. Cox was a member of Freewill Baptist Church (Cedar Grove) and was a delegate for the Freewill Baptist Association for three years. He was a member of the Gosbe Band — Gospel Valley Boys.

Mr. Cox is preceded in death by William Cox and David Cox. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Cox; children, Debra Ellison (Tony), Steve Cox (Debra), Ronnie Cox (Tammy) and Robert Cox; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Grady Cox and Robert “Bobby” Cox; sisters, Margaret Cox Parson, Dorothy Grissom, Ruth Lee, Shirley Gates (Charlie) and Barbara Dorough (Carl); and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
