Westminster falls to Fultondale

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ basketball team fell to Fultondale 55-51 in high school basketball action Feb. 3.

Jake Doggett led the Knights (11-13) with 22 points, including 16 points in the first half. Doggett, who also grabbed a team-high 16 rebounds to finish with a double-double, blocked seven shots and dished out a team-high four assists.

Jeffrey Stanford also registered a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Adam Gurley chipped in nine points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists. Zach Keeler and Tom Morse contributed four points and three rebounds each.

Craig Stanford finished with two points and three rebounds. Andrew Carroll grabbed one rebound and dished out one assist.

Westminster, which led 27-23 at halftime, extended its lead to 42-29 by the end of the third quarter. However, Fultondale outscored the Knights 26-9 in the fourth quarter to erase the 13-point advantage and clinch the victory.
