The Cornerstone Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Ellwood Christian Academy 51-46 in a semifinal contest Feb. 4 to reach the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Region 2 tournament championship game.

The Chargers will meet rival Coosa Valley Academy in the Class 1A, Region 2 tournament championship game Feb. 5 at 4 p.m.

Jana Kelbie Armstrong led Cornerstone Christian (7-12) with 16 points.

Destiny Dillard added 12 points. Kailey Goodwin and Amber Uptain contributed 10 points each in the victory.
