The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department located a Maylene woman on Feb. 9 who was reported missing Feb. 6.

Stephanie Dianne Sanchez, a 28-year-old white female from Maylene, was reported missing after she was seen early Feb. 5 at the Highland View apartments off Green Springs Highway in Birmingham.

Less than one day after seeking the public’s help in locating Sanchez, deputies located her and reported she was safe at about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 9.

“Ms. Sanchez has been located and is safe,” read the release. “Thank you to all who used the information from yesterday’s press release to look for her or announced it in a public forum.”

In the Sheriff’s Department’s original press release, deputies urged citizens to be on the lookout for a 5-foot-1-inch tall woman who weighs about 130 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Sanchez’ 2003 gold Kia Optima bearing Alabama license place 58C19Y5 was also reported missing.
