The Calera High School boys’ basketball team defeated Oak Grove 97-45 in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Area 8 tournament semifinals Feb. 11 at Midfield High School.

The Eagles (21-7) will meet host Midfield in the Class 4A, Area 8 tournament championship game Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.

Ronnie Clark led Calera with a game-high 22 points.

Jeremy Hyde added 20 points. Deondre Haynes contributed 17 points in the victory.

Calera jumped out to 22-15 lead following the opening quarter and outscored Oak Grove 25-4 in the second quarter to take a commanding lead into the locker room at halftime. The Eagles outscored Oak Grove in both quarters in the second half and coasted to victory.
