North Georgia scored the game’s opening bucket before the Falcons came right back and scored eight straight points, capped by a 3-pointer from McClure to give Montevallo an early 8-2 lead.

The Falcons led for more than 18 minutes in the first half, but North Georgia never let the lead swell past six points, an advantage the Falcons enjoyed at three different times in the first half.

The Saints eventually knotted the score up at 22-22 on a 3-pointer with 2:43 remaining in the opening half before taking the lead on a three-point play with 1:30 left. The six-point swing gave North Georgia the lead and a 25-22 edge heading to intermission.

Four lead changes and a trio of deadlocks sent Montevallo and North Georgia into the final 10 minutes of action with the Falcons holding a one-point lead at 39-38.

Montevallo slowly pulled away from there, scoring three straight buckets to take a six-point lead before extending the advantage to double digits for the first time in the contest with less than one minute remaining in the game.
