Spain Park defeats Pelham in tennis match

The Spain Park High School boys’ tennis team defeated Pelham 7-2 in a high school tennis match Feb. 17.

The Jaguars won five of the six singles’ matches and two of the three doubles’ matches against Pelham.

Spain Park’s J.C. Moore defeated Trevor Tucker of Pelham 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles’ match. Keita Ueno of Spain Park defeated Peyton Davis of Pelham 6-4, 7-2 in the No. 3 singles’ match.

Brit Sovic of Spain Park defeated Taylor Honeycutt of Pelham 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Will Hartsock of Spain Park defeated Jacob Dolinger of Pelham 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Connor Rains of Spain Park defeated Anthony DeLeonard of Pelham 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Ueno and Sovic defeated Davis and Honeycutt 10-5 in the No. 2 doubles’ match. Hartsock and Rains defeated Dolinger and DeLeonard 10-3 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

Pelham won one singles’ match and one doubles’ match against Spain Park.

The Panthers’ Jim Flaniken defeated Jack Nicholas of Spain Park 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Flaniken teamed up with Tucker to defeat Nicholas and Moore 10-1 in the No. 1 doubles’ match.
