Charles Daniel, “Dan” Johnson, age 75, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at his home while surrounded by his family.

He was a member and deacon at Dogwood Grove Baptist Church.  Mr. Johnson was retired from Alabama Power Company where he worked for 24 years, 11 months at E.C. Gaston Steam Plant in Wilsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lallage (Mooney) Johnson, as well as infant granddaughter, Sara Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Nancy Hicks Johnson; daughter, Terri Johnson; son, Randy Johnson and wife Julie; daughter, Donna Johnson Robertson and husband Paul; brother, Harold Johnson and wife Shirley; sister, Betty Johnson Cooley; brother, Willie “Pert” Johnson; three grandsons, Christopher and Michael Robertson and Caleb Johnson; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Hicks, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Friday, February 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo. Funeral will be Saturday, February 19 at 2 p.m. at Dogwood Grove Baptist Church in Montevallo with Rev. Todd Burr officiating. Mr. Johnson will lie in-state at the church one hour prior to the service.
