Thompson girls win Southern Shootout soccer tournament

The Thompson High School girls’ soccer team defeated Fairhope and Spanish Fort in matches Feb. 19 to claim the Southern Shootout tournament championship in Mobile.

The Warriors (5-0) defeated Fairhope 2-1.

Tatum Harless and Madison Thomas scored one goal each in the victory. Thompson goalkeepers Sarah Allen and Kelsey Ferguson recorded one save each.

Thompson shut out Spanish Fort 4-0 in its final tournament match.

Tatum Harless, Amber Harless, Alyssa Mayer and Alli Watts scored one goal each in the win. Watts finished with two assists. Amber Harless also recorded an assist.

Allen led the Warriors with three saves. Ferguson finished with two saves.

Thompson defeated Baker 4-0 and picked up a 2-0 win over Daphne on the first day of Southern Shootout action Feb. 18.
