Shelby County drops baseball opener at McAdory

The Shelby County High School baseball team fell to McAdory 13-4 on opening day Feb. 21.

Mike Pate led the Wildcats (0-1) at the plate as he finished 1-for-3 with four RBIs. Pate blasted a grand-slam homerun in the fifth inning to account for all four Shelby County runs.

Trey Howard finished 1-for-1 with a walk. Jonathan Pennington went 1-for-2. Josh Pennington finished 1-for-3.

Bailey Benton took the loss after giving up four runs, including two earned runs, in three innings.

Tyler Sims and Dakota Falkner pitched in relief for the Wildcats.
