The Spain Park High School softball team edged St. Clair County 2-1 in high school softball action Feb. 22.

Casey Craig accounted for both runs for the Jaguars (2-0) in the game with a two-run single in the fourth inning.

Erin Hornsby had a single in the fifth inning.

Craig finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs. April Scott finished with a double.

Julie Knight picked up the win on the mound after giving up one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts and a walk in 4 1/3 innings.

Channing Haynes struck out six batters and gave up only two hits in two innings in relief.
