The Chelsea High School baseball team defeated Calera 23-8 in high school baseball action Feb. 24.

The Hornets (3-0) blasted five home runs and racked up 16 hits in the victory.

Jake Campbell led Chelsea at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBIs.

Austin Dean finished 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Davis Shoemaker and Joey Mock also homered in the win.

Justen Moore went 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Carey Emmerke picked up the win on the mound.

James Ellison, who took the loss on the mound for Calera, led the Eagles (1-1) at the plate as he finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
